Present
Hi, I’m Sophia! 👋 I’m a Senior UX Manager at Marriott International, specializing in design systems, product design, and solutioning. I’m passionate about creating user friendly, accessible experiences that thoughtfully balance functionality and aesthetics. With a background in illustration and a love for storytelling, I’m deeply aware of the power of visual communication not only in my work, but also in how I collaborate with teammates, engage clients, and connect with audiences. Born and raised in Maryland, I’ve also lived in Florida and Boston. I currently call Chicago home.
Philosophy
Compassion, integrity, and ambition guide both my design practice and my approach to life. I find beauty and excitement in self expression and in the endless opportunities to learn from others. Through shared stories, successes, failures, perspectives, and approaches, we tap into a ocean of inspiration and experiences that connect us all. In my design work, inclusivity is at the forefront. Compassionate, intuitive design begins with accessibility treated as an intentional choice.
Visual Background
My passion is in visual communication, design strategy, accessibility, and solutioning. I bring a multidisciplinary background spanning UI/UX design, product design, illustration, visual design, visual development, concept art, animation, and a range of traditional media. I love collaborating with other creatives and have a voracious appetite to learn, grow, and create!
Simple Pleasures
My simple pleasures are a clean home, fitness, yummy food, seeing my loved ones, drives, walks, concerts, flowers, and animals (I am aware this list is comically long and most definitely not simple). I have a thirteen year old longhaired dachshund named Molly that I absolutely adore! You’ll most likely find me exploring new places, hobbies or experimenting with new art mediums. I am all about connecting with others and finding beauty in the moments and mundane that connects us all. Finding happiness and purpose in uplifting others.
