Present
Hi there, I’m Sophia! 👋 I am currently a Senior UX Manager at Marriott International with a focus on design systems, products, and solutioning. I strive to create user-friendly, accessible designs that balance functionality with aesthetics. My foundation in illustration and love for storytelling also drives me to be mindful of the power of visual communication not through just my work, but through my interactions with my teammates, clients, and audience. After being born and raised in Maryland, I have also lived in Florida and Boston. I presently live in the wonderful city of Chicago!
Philosophy
Compassion, integrity, and ambition are at the forefront of my design and life philosophy. There is beauty and excitement in expression and the vastness of how much there is to learn from others. Whether it is sharing stories, successes, failures, different perspectives, or approaches, there is an ocean of inspiration, stories, and experiences that connect us all. When it comes to design, inclusivity is at the forefront of my mind. Compassionate, intuitive design starts with supporting accessibility as an intentional decision rather than an option.
Visual Background
My passion lays within visual communication, design strategy, accessibility, and solutioning. My background is in UI/UX design, product design, illustration, visual design, visual development, concept art, animation, and various traditional medias. I love collaborating with other creatives and have a voracious appetite to learn, grow, and create!
Simple Pleasures
My simple pleasures are a clean home, fitness, yummy food, seeing my loved ones, drives, walks, concerts, flowers, and animals (I am aware this list is comically long and most definitely not simple). I have a twelve year old longhaired dachshund named Molly that I absolutely adore! You’ll most likely find me exploring new places, hobbies or experimenting with new art mediums. I am all about connecting with others and finding beauty in the moments and mundane that connects us all. Finding happiness and purpose in uplifting others.
